Piles of parts from intricate clock mechanisms and rusted engines are some of the points of departure in the paintings. The irregularly shaped silver cutouts, various gears, perfectly-cut sparkling gems, and pieces of pipes and fans are the raw materials that are reconfigured, morphed, diminished and enlarged. Like a turn of a kaleidoscope, each composition unveils new clusters and configurations, pushed and pulled, revealing new meanings through the plasticity of paint. The painterly transformations of various forms uncover hidden themes. Sharp, stark shapes clash with light, airy colors; rugged engine fans, similar to the shape-changing characters of Ovid's Metamorphosis, become flower petals. Broad, smooth surfaces conceal layers of turbulent, whirling contents underneath; angular mechanical shapes appear tangled and baroque. These "scenarios" of the shifting, evolving, surreptitious and violent elements fade in and out, as isolated bits of a lost narrative. Yet, in their variations and repetitions, the clusters form larger rhythmic compositions- constellations of oscillating ruins and trembling clocks.
